What is
Smart Exercise?

Smart Exercise isn't your typical personal training facility. Our studio is calm, clean, and relaxed. Workouts are deliberate, focused, brief, and extremely effective. Sessions are always supervised 1-on-1 by an experienced trainer who is there to guide and support you--not a drill sergeant.

We specialize in Slow Motion Strength Training, a beginner friendly strength-training method that emphasizes slow, controlled movements. Originally developed in 1982 for women with osteoporosis, this method is both extremely safe (very low impact on the joints and bones) yet deceptively intense (necessary for maximally stimulating the body's metabolic response). Best of all, workouts only take 20 minutes to perform.

I am an over 55 year old woman with a compromised lower back that loves exercise. Before going to see Rob Wight, I frequently would experience low back injuries. From the start Rob listened to me and developed a exercise program congruent to my issues with my lower back. I haven't experienced anymore pain. Rob is punctual, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable of the exercise equipment in his studio. Do yourself a favor and give Smart Exercise with Rob Wight a try!

Driving Directions

Our studio is located on the east side of Contra Costa Blvd, just south of Taylor Blvd and the Sunvalley Mall. If you are heading north on Contra Costa, the entrance to our shopping center’s driveway is beyond Ellinwood Dr, just past China Chef. There is plenty of parking.
